Pastor Eric R. Cummings was born and raised in Ocala, FL. At the age of 16, Pastor Cummings, knew that there was a great calling and purpose on his life. At the age of 35 he surrendered to the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was licensed on May 23, 2004, at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Ocala, FL under the leadership of his Pastor, Dr. Cecil Wilson. After two years of faithful service to the Lord and the church Minister Cummings was ordained by Dr. Wilson on October 22, 2006. Reverend Cummings continued to serve as an associate minister until he was called in December, 2006 to carry on as the interim Pastor of the Union Missionary Baptist Church, Dunnellon, FL. After four months of his dynamic preaching and teaching the unadulterated, uncontestable word of God, Reverend Eric Cummings was installed as the Pastor of Union M.B.C. on April 30, 2007.
Pastor Cummings is a remarkable husband and father. He is married to the love of his life whom he has known for most of his life, the lovely Lisa Colbert-Cummings. They have six beautiful children, James, Jessica, Eric II, Kennedy, Ekembe' and Emmanuel, and two grandchildren, Mya and Bryan.
Pastor Cummings graduated from Ocala Forest High School, Ocala FL and continued his education at Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, FL. He transferred to Edwards Waters College, Jacksonville FL, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree in 2005. On his mission to further his education, Pastor Cummings attended the United Theological Seminary, Monroe, La and in 2008 received a Bachelors of Theology Degree, and a Masters in Theology in 2011. Pastor Cummings is the 1st Vice-President of the Second Bethlehem Baptist Association, United Congress of Christian Education, he is also one of the founding members and the current secreatry of Pastor's with a Purpose, ministerial alliance. Pastor Cummings is also a State Certified Correctional Officer, a State Certified Law Enforcement Officer and a State Certified Crisis Negotiator, who has been employed with the Florida Department of Corrections for the past 15 years
Pastor Cummings is a pastor that genuinely cares for the people of God. His hearts desire is to reach the "un-churched" and empower the "churched". Pastor Cummings has a heart for people whose spirit has been wounded by life's miss-directions. He is dedicated to ministering to those that need inner healing; physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He believes in ministering to those who are struggling with issues that prevent them from being just what God meant for them to be.
Never the less, Pastor Cummings is an influential force in the community and Central Florida area. He has a charismatic personality, contagious humor and attitude, which has allowed him to preach at revivals, and speak at conferences throughout the country. He has been blessed to minister internationaly in the Virgin Island,(St. Thomas) and Haiti.
When Pastor Cummings is not working diligently at church or in the community, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and watching sports and is a huge Miami Dolphin's fan.
Elect Lady Lisa Cummings
Elect Lady Lisa Anita Cummings was born and raised in the Ocala Fl. She came to know the Lord at the age of 18, and today she is an amazing Woman of God, Wife, Mother and Role Model to the women at UMBC. Lady Cummings has a passion and energy for life that is contagious, which becomes very apparent when she smiles. She is to married to the love of her life whom she has known all her life, Pastor Eric Cummings, Sr. They have six beautiful children, James, Jessica, Eric II, Kennedy, Ekembe' and Emmanuel, and two grandchildren, Mya and Bryan.
Lady Cummings is an educated and strong-minded Woman of God. She is also a graduate of Ocala Forest High School, she has an Associates Degree from Central Florida Community College in Ocala, FL, and she went on to get her Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from St. Leo University. First Lady Cummings is also a State Certified Correctional Officer and is employed by the Florida Department of Corrections.
Lady Cummings knows that her first ministry is to her husband. Being a pastor's wife and working mother, no doubt keeps her very busy, but she willingly dedicates time to the various ministries of the church. Her love for the Lord is evident in how she relates to the people she meets. She has a strong passion to help young women excel in life, and has a soft spot for the elder members of the church.
In her spare time she enjoys, shopping, cooking, reading, decorating and spending quality time with her family.
She is a Phenomenal Woman of God!!
